Knee Pain
Knee pain can have many different sources. We do a full exam of the low back, hips, knee, ankle, and foot to determine the source of your knee pain. Adhesion is often the cause of knee pain. Adhesion can alter the normal motion of the knee causing pain and degeneration. A quick screen procedure that you can do at home is the kneeling test (below).
This position should be comfortable with the heels touching your butt and the front of your ankles touching the ground. A positive test is:
- Unable to get both heels to butt
- Pain or discomfort in your ankles, feet, or knees.
- Front of ankles not touching the ground.
If this test is positive, adhesion may be the cause. Muscle adhesion is the most common source of pain and stiffness and the most underdiagnosed. Dr. Phipps is a level 5 Integrative Diagnosis provider and an expert at diagnosing and treating adhesions. He is able to localize and break down adhesions using his hands. Reducing the adhesions will restore normal strength, flexibility, and movement, eliminating pain and improving the performance of the muscle.
